Dim sum Festival, Spice Kitchen and Evo Grills at Shakahari, JW Marriott reviewed!

JW Marriott never ceases to amaze its patrons with the variety of festivals they offer. Apart from regular buffet, patrons can relish the delicacies offered in the different festivals - be it Goa Food Fest or Marwar Food Fest.

This month from 18th February to 29th February, JW Marriott has come up with another brilliant idea of organizing heart-warming Dim sum festival at the global cuisine restaurant Spice Kitchen where varieties can be found like dim sum, bao, dumplings, spring rolls along with Chinese tea.

Dim sum is a style of Cantonese cuisine in which traditional food is served in steam baskets. Dim sum is inextricably linked to the Chinese tradition of "yum cha" or drinking tea. Whereas, a baozi or simply known as bao, bau, is a type of steamed, filled, bun or bread-like item was served with two stuffing of Vegetable coriander and Lamb.

Vegetable Coriander Bao was bun steamed and was sprinkled with coriander. Nice soft texture and was made exactly the way it should be. Meat eating people can hog for Lamb Bao.

Chinese Chive Dumpling and Mushroom Shitake Dumpling had a very translucent covering with a delicious stuffing of chives and mushrooms. They looked attractive in green color. Fresh vegetables were tactfully stuffed in the thin layer of dumplings. The taste was equally delectable.

Spring rolls are also a type of dim sum which are thin rolled, crispy deep fried appetizer. They were made to perfection with vegetable julienne stuffed in it. Noodle soup could be avoided as being tasteless.

Chinese tea had Jasmine flavour too which I did not find very interesting. Though, it was going well with the dim sums.

Adding an extra attraction to the dining experience, the hotel is also offering a new feature to its extensive Asian Vegetarian spread, ‘The Evo Grill’ in Shakahari, a all vegetarian restaurant in JW Marriott. On a circular flat top cooking surface there will be live cooking of scrumptious favourites like Indian Tawa Kebabs, Pan fried noodles/rice and Asian pan cakes on three distinct Evo Grills. Do experience yourself the grilled dishes served right on your table!

We had healthy beetroot tawa kebabs, vegetable kebabs and vegetable fritters.

Who can miss the desserts in the dessert room of Shakahari? We had a variety there-few of my favourites are Raspberry pastry and Opera.
