World Street Food Festival: Seasonal Tastes, Westin, Pune — Reviewed!

Who doesn't like street food! Street Food is closely associated with the bylanes of small towns, cities with local vendors selling array of ready to eat food post shopping with friends, family or sometimes alone. One can not be bored of melange of flavours which you get in street food. What could be better than a single place where all the street food from around the world is amalgamated.

Yes, Seasonal Taste, Westin, has come up with a fantastic idea to pull people from their houses during monsoons to dig into irresistible local and international favorites.

We went to relish the delicacies for which Chef Harpal took us on a tour and showed us the buffet. Right at the entrance, one can see irresistible Chaat counter offering Pani Puri, Sev Puri, Bhelpuri, Dahi Bhalla, Bhakarwadi, Aloo Wadi, Papdi Chaat etc and as you move forward you can see Pita breads, variety of hummus, Falafal Rolls, Chicken Shawarama from Mediterranean region, Burgers from American, Satays from south east Asia, Tacos, Quesadillas from Mexican and Kulchas, Paranthas, Kachori, Bhajiyas, Kulfis from Indian region.

We were flooded with the delicious dishes; however, few of my favourites are..
Crispy, spiced Kachori with mango chutney,

Pani Puri with spicy and tangy water to tantalise the taste buds,

Chef Harpal's signature dish, Amritsari Kulcha - One of the best I had in Pune. Basic potato filling with butter, accompanied with chholey and tamarind chutney.

Appam and Stew - Real nice combo with Appam, I wish to be more crisp, though Stew was aromatic and the coconut milk flavour with the spices was a perfect marriage of flavours.

The festival is just for 10 days and one should not miss the opportunity to visit and indulge in the street food around the world under one roof!
