Muphies – Bon Ap'potato : Heaven for Potato Lovers — Reviewed!

Murphies — A catchy name isn't it? An English slang used for Potatoes and makes it quite obvious to guess the basic menu of the first fast casual restaurant chain. Aman Talreja, the man behind the concept, has good knowledge and experience in this field. The menu is quite unique, basic and focused on the freshly baked jacket potatoes with filling of your choice. Usually we tend to remove the potato skin but we forget most of the nutrition is in fact in the skin. Aptly written on the menu – The Skin — Taste it; don't waste it! :)

Ambience: Beautiful, minimalist, casual restaurant or cafe where one can chill, hang-out, play games with friends, family or even relax alone with a murph in one hand and beer in another! ;-) Both types of seatings – Indoor and Outdoor, choose according to the weather. Indoor is classy with wooden furniture, and small lamps overhead. Small 'Treats' – a counter serving coffees or drinks is on one corner while the green colored service counter can be spotted as soon as you enter.

Food: Major part of any restaurant is the food. So, let's begin. As I mentioned, limited but delicious menu offering Soups, Salads, Sangrias, Coffee, Beer, Yoghurts, Sides and obviously Murphs is enough to tempt you. Being a vegetarian, I looked for the veg part but they do have some non-veg exotic signature offerings like Steak N Gravy Murph, Mutton Keema, Seasoned chicken to name a few to pair with Wine, Beer, Sangrias.

Its monsoon time, so I started with a comforting warm Mushroom Cappuccino Soup. Wow! Frothy Soup! Mushroom broth is served in Cappuccino style. Rich, creamy and delectable. Flavours were perfectly balanced and so was the temperature. Not to be missed. Highly Recommended.  Another soup I tried was Basil and Pepper soup, it was also at perfect temperature with creaminess of Basil and crunchiness of Peppers. Basil could have been added more to enhance its flavour.

Next course was salad. Dhiren suggested me to go with Purple Island, which I too found interesting. The presentation and the dish was so fresh. Shredded Red cabbage with crunch of bell peppers, freshness of orange infused with honey and lemon dressing was not only riot of colors but also flavours. Sweet, Sour, Tangy, all in one bowl. The combination of ingredients was nice. Highly recommended!

Now was the show time. I opted for uncomplicated veg murph — Sour Cream and Chives, only cold murph in there. Deliciously baked potato skin, stuffed with mashed potatoes, topped with inhouse made sour cream and garnished with chives. The skin was crunchy, thick, nicely baked, though bit chewy because of the cold murph. Ooh..But that sour cream, slightly tart was a winner. I could even eat it like that only! Spiced mashed potatoes with sour cream tasted awesome. Recommended!

Next was their signature hot Basil Pesto Murph. Looked appealing. Mashed potatoes seasoned with basil pesto emulsion, bell pepper, mushroom, onion and babycorn, loaded with mozzarella cheese and baked to perfection in crunchy potato skin. Tasted good but was a bit dry for me.
I gulped it down with the Green Apple Cooler. Cooler was totally refreshing with ice, syrup and chunks of green apples.

Service: Being an invitation, nothing to say about the service. Staff was proactive. Dhiren was looking after each client diligently.
