Denim Bistro, name sounds quite unusual. Even, I was thinking, how is denim related to food. Well, the restaurant Denim Bistro located in Pimpri, gets its name from one of the NGO they are associated with. As a part of the social service, Bistro procured some recycled denim finished products from the NGO and used part of it as cutlery holder or bill holder and part for sale; the proceeds of which will go directly to them. What a thoughtful initiative!
The menu is pretty extensive. We started with our first usual mocktail, Virgin Mojito. Refreshing! First starter we had was Aloo Cheese Tikki, with cheese as the obvious reason! :) Tikki was soft, stuffed with processed cheese, served with mint chutney. I wish it was dabbed on paper napkin before serving, though the taste was good.
Well, coming on to the restaurant, it is located on the ground floor of the Hotel Formule1 in Pimpri. One can see the sign board from long. What I liked about the place..
- Delicious food and drinks
- Soulful music
- Denim Cutlery holder
- Ample parking space
- Quick and friendly staff
- Positive Energy
- Raw Decor
- Comfortable floral print sofas and colored chairs.
- Social initiative
The two-month old restaurant is surely making its mark. One can see the minimalist interiors with the frames of old rock stars, musicians on the cool turquoise wall. The best part was the soothing 50s-60s rock music in the background. Apt tag line, Food and Music in our genes!

Next was Ajwaini Onion Tikki. I loved the coat of crunchy cornflakes over the tikkis. The fried onions in it were giving nice texture and taste. Chaat masala sprinkled over it was enhancing the flavours.
Then, we had American Corn Salsa! Hot it was! Juicy sweet corn with fiery chilli sauce, tomato sauce, loads of green chillies and peppers. Spice-lovers will surely enjoy this. However, you can ask them to adjust the spiciness as per your palate. I like it spicy! :)
We soothed ourselves with chilled Strawberry Lassi..

Moving on to another starter, we had Palak Dim, a version of palak or spinach tikki. Corn and Palak, balanced in quantity, made a great combo. The tikki was crisp and delicious.
Veg Seekh Kebabs were next. Concoctions of vegetables and spices were done perfectly. Veg kebabs aren't juicy though but tasted good. Good effort by the chef.
Another delicacy and signature was Shabnami Mushrooms. Mushrooms were generously coated with the yummy white marination and grilled to perfection.
Jalapeno Cheese Balls is one of their signature dish and my favourite too. Gooey, Cheesy warm cheese balls with jalapenos was on my favourite snack on the table. We just could not resist eating it one after another.
Known more for their starters, Denim Bistro had too much more to offer. We were already stuffed with the amazing dishes we tried. But, while looking at the menu, I was tempted to try Shaam Savera, Paneer Makhmali and Veg Biryani. Shaam Savera looked appetizing. Spinach koftas cooked in gravy, wow! Soft koftas were placed on the bed of usual red tomato gravy. So yum!
Paneer Makhmali is their signature main course dish. Silky medium spiced gravy of cashew, mint and coriander, had chunks of paneer. The portion size was good to suffice to two people.
The aroma of Veg Biryani served with veg raita was attracting me towards it to have a spoonful! Long grained rice, veggies, biryani masala, kewda water, garnished with caramalised onion made it a full meal in itself. Totally delish!
No meal is complete without the desserts. We had gulabjamuns topped with vanilla ice-cream. Best part was Gulabjamuns were made in house. They were fresh, soft and had right amount of sweetness.
Post meal, we had a chat with the manager, Mr. Mithun, who has immense experience in this field. It was fun talking to him about the food, vision and more. He shared that the bar will be opening soon.

I am an event photographer, I love this venue, and I will revisit this venue in a heartbeat. They have really great staff and pretty decent drinks.
