Cream Centre, Bibvewadi – The Veg Edge — Reviewed!

It is very difficult to find good vegetarian restaurants with soothing ambience and quick staff. One of the old and popular vegetarian restaurants, where I love to eat, is Cream Centre. They first claimed its fame with still best selling dish The Original Channa Bhatura and many other Punjabi Dishes. Recently, Cream Centre opened up a new branch in Bibvewadi and how is it different from other outlets? Well, scrumptious new additions to the menu, international chic ambience makes it unique.

Ambience::
Located on the ground floor in Raviraj CRU Mall, the place is easy to find. At the entrance on the left is the counter, front is the wooden carved artefacts. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating options. Evenings are pleasant outside, but for the summer noon, I preferred Indoors. Shades of brown are used for the furnishings. Cream Centre is a perfect dining option in vegetarian restaurant league and has become a culinary destination for families or groups.
Food::
Coming on to the food, the restaurant has adapted to the changing trends and created some lip-smacking original dishes like World's Best nachos, Khau Galli Vada, Bake me to Heaven, Sizzling Brownie Fondue to name a few. We tried two mocktails and one oreo vanilla shake. Peach Ice Tea was refreshing and balanced while fresh mint mojito was bit sweet. I liked the Oreo Vanilla Shake which was thick and creamy.

I was pretty excited to try some of the dishes here. We started with the Big Nachos and yes, the name says it all. Huge Tortilla chips drizzled with cheese, nachos sauce and loaded with refried beans, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, olives, jalapenos and salsa. Had huge expectations with the dish! Undoubtedly, the presentation was excellent but addition of more cheese and flavours could have uplifted the dish.

A veg platter was served to try maximum varieties of starters without the food wastage. The platter had the famous onion rings, american corn cheese balls, Italian herbed cheese chilli toast, tandoori subz wonton and Khau galli wada.

Onion Rings are one of their signatures, though it was crispy fried but lacked taste. Will try it next time in A La Carte and not platter to feel the difference, if any. American Corn Cheese Balls were the balls of flavours. More corns and less cheese also didn't affect the taste. It was fried, gooey and cheesy, what else do we need? :)

Veggie bed on the toasted bread and baked to perfection makes Italian Herbed Chilli Cheese Toast. Medium Spicy taste and crunchy texture was good.
Khau galli wada were a baby version of classic batata vada. Mushy and spicy, it was served with garlic-chili chutney and coriander chutney. Scrumptious.
Tandoori Subz Wonton was the chef's take on the the chinese recipe. Tandoori masala vegetables were rolled with cheddar cheese into wondon sheets and deep fried. Delicious.

And then came the much awaited Channa Bhatura, their most popular dish and trust me this was scrumptious, huge and worth trying. The Bhatura was soft was soft yet fluffy while the chana was perfectly cooked with balanced spices. One dish and you are done! Went well with the chutney and onions. Highly Recommended!

There are so many options in the 'Mera Sizzlers' section, but we opted for Chef's Oriental Special Sizzler and wow! It was killer! A sizzler, the way, it should be. Paneer cubes and vegetables in the signature black bean-manchurian sauce served with sizzling rice and accompanied with steamed grilled vegetables, grilled tomatoes, spinach and potato chips. Slightly tangy, spicy, and balanced flavoured. Woaaah! Must have!

'Bake me to Heaven' is the section in the menu for Pizzas and Pasta. We ordered Penne Al Forno, again a signature dish. Double Baked with 4 secret sauces and crunchy bites of bell peppers was presented beautifully. Adding few more exotic vegetables could have made this colorful and flavourful. Seasoning was also on the lower side. Though, the dish was baked nicely.

Last but not the least, the sweet tooth cravings made us order Sizzling Brownie Fundae. Baked brownie with scoop of vanilla topped with chocolate sauce and served on the sizzling platter. Brownie made a great combo with chocolate and ice-cream.

Overall, a wonderful place, ambience is very good, prices are bit steep and with some hits and some misses, food was scrumptious. Do try the Cream Centre, Bibvewadi for some 'hatke' dishes and some signatures. Share your experience in the comment box!
