Live Cook-up Session with Saransh Goila – Recreating recipes from AXN Top Chef

I am a huge fan of cooking shows and have grown up watching them. The first and most prominent memory of me is ' Khana Khazana' by the Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. He has inspired so many aspiring chefs and one of the next generation inspirational chef is Saransh Goila. Known as travel chef, he has his name as the only chef in Limca Book of world records for travelling 20000 kms in just 100 days. His inspirational travelogue, Roti Rasta aur India is ideal for all those who love food and travel.

How fascinating it is to actually taste the scrumptious dishes cooked by the prominent chefs. So, to give audiences, the feel of how recipes are cooked, AXN tied up with the Godrej Nature's Basket to recreate recipes from one of the top chef, Saransh. It was a feast for all when celebrity chef conducted a live cooking session at Nature's Basket, Koregaon Park, Pune. He cooked 3 lip-smacking recipes, inspired by AXN's show Top Chef, where professional chefs compete against each other to win the title.

I was pretty excited to attend the workshop, and was glad to learn the scrumptious Macrons with Guacamole’, ‘Quinoa Pasta cooked with Zucchini Salsa Verde’ and ‘Jerk Halibut with Mango slaw’. Dishes were ready in few minutes with loads of insights, question answers. Saransh is very interactive and had lots of fun stories and experience to share with.

Chef Saransh Goila said:

“I started following AXN’s Top Chef since I was a student so the experience of creating the dishes from the show live at Nature’s Basket was very exciting. While it looks easy on screen, when you actually create it live you understand the efforts that goes into preparing it. For me as a chef, it’s always a learning curve to cook somebody else’s recipe.”

He further adds, “In fact, a few years ago, I got a chance to meet the host of Top Chef - Ms. Padma Lakshmi and we had a great conversation about the show. She is wonderful and makes the Indian audience relate to Top Chef even more.”
Overall, it was a learning hands on experience of recreating dishes which we just see on TV. Thank you to AXN Top Chef, Chef Saransh Goila and Godrej Nature's Basket and team for making the session interesting.
