Pratik Langarkande is the face behind this place. He is polite and wears a smile anytime you visit here. We, group of five, decided to meet at this place. And I must say, not a wrong decision at all! Maanas knew Pratik and used to visit several times and wanted us to give it a try. So, after long ride from criss cross lanes we gathered at Café de Custard. Parking is not much of issue of two-wheelers; for four-wheeler one can find a place too but slightly away.
As soon as we enter, we can see a wall full of 90's cartoons, creating nostalgia. On right side wall is a big mirror and opposite to it is their billing counter. The black board is updated daily with newly added dishes and Special sandwiches to choose from.
Its a small place with a seating capacity for approx. 20 people.
I am not a big fan of custards, however, foodie in me wanted to try it. We mutually decided and ordered the following....

As the signature dish is custard, you can't go wrong with any flavour of custard you order. I will rate my experience one by one. So, here it goes...
Brownie with Custard - Who doesn't like Brownie!? And that too with Custard! - Truly a deadly combination. It was presented beautifully. Brownie, soft & spongy, was covered with loads of custard and drizzled with chocolate sauce. One of my favourite custard of the lot! Totally recommended.
Gulkand Custard - Never imagined how Gulkand will taste in custard. I was really sceptical to taste it but thought of giving it a try once. It had a very soothing mild flavor.
Fruit Salad Custard - If given a choice, I never take a chance and order for Fruit Custard. This dish was colorful with lots of fruits including apple, pomegranate, banana with tutti fruities for the crunch and topped with cream and a cherry. A flavourful preparation.
Grilled Cheese Garlic Sandwich - I am a die hard sandwich lover and keep on trying each and every sandwich wherever I get a chance. How could I miss sandwich here? So, ordered Grilled Cheese Garlic Sandwich. It looked really scrumptious with cheese. However, it failed to impress my taste palate because of raw garlic used. My suggestion was to cook and use with some added flavour. I shared this with Pratik as well and he was kind enough to take the feedback positively.
Choco-Mint Mousse - Smooth and silky chocolate mousse, with a bit of cool mint to cut through the richness. Mint was just added to perfection. Liked it!
Chai Panna Cotta - A spiced Indian take on a classic dessert was presented in a traditional way with marie biscuits to accompany it. I never drink tea so I just tasted this. It was good for me but liked by my fellow friends.
Alfredo Grilled Cheese Sandwich - This sandwich was not on the menu and Pratik was keen that we should try this. Cream cheese is the secret to the Alfredo sauce. This sandwich was comparatively better. It had peppers and alfredo sauce with cheese in it. Grilling was underdone, so I suggest them to improve the grilling time and include lots of butter so that the bread is not dry at the time of eating!
Hazelnut Custard - Chocolate and hazelnut flavors combine in this elegant custard to create the perfect ending to an elegant meal. This custard is perfect for celebrating something special. It was rich and had hazelnuts to add crunch! Thumbs up from me!
Paan Shots - Paan Lovers-Don't miss it! Small shots of paan were truly refreshing in the end!

Service:: Service was at par. No issues. Hats off the new entrepreneur and wish him good luck for his venture!
**They have both Veg and Non Veg options for Sandwiches. I am surely going back for impeccable custards and new and improved sandwiches! :)
