Level 12, Doubletree by Hilton : Food, Music and Ambience! — Reviewed!

Live sufi music, roof top restaurant, delicious food, warm staff, cool breeze, bright lighted city view ticked all the requisites for a romantic dinner, right!? I am sure, you must be wondering which place is the one I am talking about. Well, this is Level 12, Double Tree by Hilton in Chinchwad. Last visit to this place was not that pleasant but this time it was such a beautiful experience.
Most attractive thing about this place is the ambience. The top floor i.e 12th have two dimly lit sections – the lower deck and the upper deck with the swimming pool. We opted to sit on the upper deck along side pool and sufi band to enjoy the evening to the fullest. Trust me, it was one of the memorable evenings I had in recent times.

We started with the delicious amuse bouche chutney wala paneer and I so wish it to be a starter! It was so lip-smacking.

The curried lentil soup was warm and bit spicy as yellow lentils were tempered with traditional curry powder, lime and curry leaves. One can feel the aroma and the taste of Indian spices there in it.

Chef presented us with the speciality Veg platter which had Thecha Aloo, Walnut broccoli seekh, Lal Mirch ka Paneer Tikka, Corn Cheese Kurkure and Mushroom Cheese Tikka. My favourite being Corn Cheese Tikka, deep fried, crisp with delicious filling. Paneer Tikka was equally delish. Portion size was enough for 2 people.

Main course too had signature dishes of Level 12. Their Amritsari Kulcha, 12 ki Daal and Paneer Lababdar is to die for. Amritsari Kulchas, stuffed with flavoured potatoes, topped with white butter and baked to perfection can be eaten like that only. You won't need anything else. This was my one of the favourite dishes of the meal. Highly Recommended!

12 ki Daal, as I have already mentioned in my previous post, the dish gets its name from the fact that dal makhani served on level 12 is 12 ki daal. Quite interesting. Black lentils were mushy, spices were perfect. Recommended!
Paneer Lababdar was very interestingly made. Paneer balls dipped in spicy tomato gravy went well with the naans or kulchas. Being a punjabi dish, it had the desi touch. Loved it! Recommended!

Subz Biryani was presented in a cooker to keep the flavours intact. The kevda water aroma, basmati rice and delicious veggies made a great combination. Delicious!
Post heavy meal, we decided to opt for Jalandhar ki special pista malai kulfi and gulabjamuns. Kulfi was served in a big glass. Rich with dry fruits and malai, this kulfi took me back to the childhood. Every single bite was creamy, full of flavours. Highly Recommended!

Gulabjamuns were warm, fresh, soft and most importantly with right amount of sweetness. I bet you can't stop after one. They were delicious. Recommended!

So, guys if you too wanna have similar experience, sufi nights are conducted on alternate Fridays. You can ask for Mridul or Patricia or even the chef for suggestions.
