Wild Sugar Patisserie and Cafe : Salads, Pastries and more! — Reviewed!

Wild Sugar Patisserie and Cafe is one of my favourite places for satiating sweet tooth cravings. Nestled amidst the hustling bustling area of Viman Nagar, the small patisserie has evaded the chaos. Wild Sugar, a small cafe has indoor and outdoor seating for some hearty, fresh, light meal options. Interiors are basic, contemporary with food quotes and eclectic art especially the handmade cupcake painting.

The Cafe has won many hearts with the range of food and services they offer. Right in front of the entrance, the counter displays some sinful and indulgent pastries and am sure you will be spoilt by the choices they have. You ask it and they have it – Red Velvet Cake, Mango Cake, Blueberry Cheesecake, Truffle, Gateaux, Raspberry, Mousse, Tiramisu and more.

Wild Sugar Patisserie was on my bucket list and when I was invited, I was quite excited to visit the place. Managed by duo Chef Ajay Ahuja and Darshan Bhattad, the cafe is quite popular. Surprisingly, the menu is quite extensive as contrast to conventional patisseries. It has the menu which is suitable for small bites to big meals. I saw the menu which ranges from Order anytime Eggs, Waffles and Pancakes to Lite Bites, Salads, Breads, Pasta, Hot and Cold Beverages. Its worth mentioning that the Cafe has many options, both savory and sweet, for vegetarians too.

Evening started with the Apple and Mint Mojito. Lovely, refreshing and delicious. It had sweetness of apple and freshness of Mint. Highly recommended to beat the heat this summer! People with fruit liking can opt for Mix berry smoothie which was equally delectable.

Veg Bread Rolls had mix veg stuffing and fried to perfection. Crispy from outside, soft inside. Loved it with the mint dip.

Arborio rice balls (Arancini balls) with vegetables and coated with breadcrumbs was one of my favourite appetizer of the evening. I could eat that whole serving! It was delish.

Who doesn't love deep fried stuff? Baby corn tempuras were served shortly after Arancini. The crunch and flavour was of the chef's secret batter. Scrumptious and appetizing.
Beautiful looking Mezze Platter with grilled inhouse pita bread, lavash served with hummus, garlic mayonnaise, tzatziki and feta accompanied with cucumber and carrot batons and pickled olives. I was glad to know all the breads are baked in house and oh my no wonder they are so fresh!

Small envelopes of flavours intact with a basket full of fries was served next. Veg Pita pockets filled with falafel and greens tossed in lemon juice and seasoning drizzled with hummus made it filling. A single portion is enough to keep hunger at bay for few hours.

Wonderful twist and combination was given to the next dish - Tandoori Paneer Focaccia. Perfect spicy, fresh paneer and that focaccia made a great sandwich and glad to see it was accompanied with garden salad. Focaccia sandwich was moderate with filling portion but the freshness of the ingredients provided a satisfying lightness. Loved it!

Must have is the Mom's Classical Ciaza and in particular the Mushroom and white sauce. Totally loaded Ciaza with mushrooms and creamy sauce was again one of my favourites of the evening. The classic ciabatta was given a delicious twist. So yum.

Two salads with contrasting taste! One was Koshimbir Salad with Brown Rice and another was Apple Pear and Walnut Salad. Koshimbir Salad was nice melange of traditional modern preparation with sprouts, beet, carrot juliennes, vinaigrette dressing and topped with fresh fenugreek leaves (Could have been avoided). However, the fried rice or Brown rice was extremely delicious. Balanced the dish.

Next was the Apple pear and walnut salad, which was one of the best salads, I had tasted in recent times. Sliced Apples, Pears for the sweetness, almonds for the crunch and to enhance the flavours it had balsamic reduction and mascarpone cheese. Overall a well balanced dish. Trust me the portion sizes are so good that one bowl can replace a meal.

Now was the time to dig into our desserts. Started with seasonal special and most awaited Mango Baked Cheese Cake; it can instantly satisfy any sweet tooth craving. Cheesecake was moist, light and fresh. Perfect!

Another gem was Triple Layered Chocolate Mousse – Super moist, tender, and full chocolatey. I found this a great after-dinner dessert. Each layer of frosting was easily visible. WOW!

Orange Chocolate Parfait was again an amazing creation. A single serving contains heavenly combo of Orange and Chocolate with aerated texture and intense sweetness that was cut by the acidity of orange. Topped with Orange zest, it looked like a pretty popsicle.

Icing on the cake was the Red Velvet Pastry. The dramatic looking bright colored pastry sharply contrasted by white cream cheese frosting. Super soft and divine. One of the best Red Velvet Pastry, I have eaten in a long time.

Overall a wonderful experience, an evening well spent. Right from scrumptious breakfast to hearty meal, Wild Sugar Patisserie and Cafe have something for everyone. A must visit place!
