The Sassy Spoon – Tastier and Sassier New Menu! — Reviewed!

The Sassy Spoon, a chic resto bar, is a popular hangout place amongst punekars. With the plethora of scrumptious dishes with a twist, the place has recently introduced the newer and sassier menu. The dishes are not only healthier but the flavours are also next level. I was glad to try couple of the delectable additions to the existing European, Asian, Mediterranean cuisine. Following are the dishes I tried from the tasting menu...
  • Baked Phyllo pastry (4/5)
  • Quinoa Chickpeas, sweet potato poppers (4/5)
  • Wild Mushroom Risotto (4.5/5)
  • Ricotta Asparagus and Water chestnut Tortellini (4.5/5)
  • Peach and Green Tea Mousse (3.5/5)
  • Caramelized White Chocolate and Watermelon Mousse (4/5)
Our meal started with the Baked Phyllo pastry paired with the most refreshing mocktail – Very Berry Khatta. The pastry was filled with the delicious stuffing of exotic artichoke, olives, water chestnut, and sun-dried tomatoes. Served with the peri peri cheese sauce, the flaky pastry was crispy and the medium spicy filling was lip-smacking! The crunch of water chestnut and the tartness of tomatoes elevated the flavours.

Next exquisite appetiser and my favourite were the Quinoa, Chickpeas, sweet potatoes and bell peppers poppers served over the bed of sassy slaw and hummus. It was rich, crispy, healthy and delicious. The hummus went well with the poppers. Loved it!

In the main course, we tried the most loved Wild Mushroom Risotto with Bocconcini. It was rich, creamy and loaded with earthy flavours. The delicate taste and wintry texture are what you can expect from the bowl of risotto. Highly Recommended!

Another gem from the menu was the Ricotta Asparagus and Water chestnut Tortellini in an aglio olio cream with balsamic drizzle. The creamy, light, crunchy pasta was a treat in itself. Packed with all the flavours, this dish is a must try!

Peach and Green Tea Mousse was for the dessert. Quite unique. The mousse was served with a light, fluffy apricot sponge and refreshing raspberry sorbet. It was a creative presentation and a beautiful combination of flavours.

Next on the table was the Caramelized White Chocolate and Watermelon Mousse with Guava Chilli Sorbet. The whole combination of ingredients was brilliant. It was sweet, tart and the mildly spiced sorbet won our hearts. Not only it was visually stunning but also a treat to taste buds.Truly amazing!

Do try the new sassier menu and share your experiences with me. Would love to read from you!
