In India, we have a love for noodles, and the Hakka noodles take the crown as one of the most beloved noodle dishes. Although, noodles originates from the Hakka region of China but has been adapted to suit Indian tastes using a blend of spices and vegetables. Ingredients you'll need:
- 200g Noodles
- 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp Garlic, finely chopped
- 1 Onion, sliced
- 1 Carrot, julienned
- 1 Bell Pepper, sliced
- 1 cup Cabbage, shredded
- 2-3 Spring onions, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Chili Sauce
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Let's get started!
Step 1: Boil the noodles as per the instructions on the packet and add 1 tbsp of oil to prevent them from sticking. Once cooked, drain and rinse under cold water, and keep aside.
Step 2: In a wok or a frying pan, heat 2 tbsp of sesame oil and add finely chopped garlic. Sauté the garlic for 30 seconds.
Step 3: Add sliced onions and cook till they turn translucent.
Step 4: Now add julienned carrots, sliced bell peppers, and shredded cabbage. Mix well and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
Step 6: Add boiled noodles to the pan and mix well.
Step 7: Add 1 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tbsp of chili sauce and 1 tsp of Ketchup to the noodles. Mix well and cook for 2 more minutes.
Step 8: Garnish with finely chopped spring onions.
Your Hakka noodles are ready! Serve them hot and enjoy the delicious taste of Indo-Chinese cuisine!
