Hakka Noodles - Easy Vegetarian Recipe

They are often seasoned with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and other spices to give them a savory flavor. Although, noodles originates from the Hakka region of China but has been adapted to suit Indian tastes using a blend of spices and vegetables. Today, I'll show you how to make Hakka noodles from the comfort of your own home. Super easy recipe - quick to make and loved by one and all.

Ingredients you'll need:

- 200g Noodles
- 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp Garlic, finely chopped
- 1 Onion, sliced
- 1 Carrot, julienned
- 1 Bell Pepper, sliced
- 1 cup Cabbage, shredded
- 2-3 Spring onions, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Chili Sauce
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste

Let's get started!

Step 1: Boil the noodles as per the instructions on the packet and add 1 tbsp of oil to prevent them from sticking. Once cooked, drain and rinse under cold water, and keep aside.

Step 2: In a wok or a frying pan, heat 2 tbsp of sesame oil and add finely chopped garlic. Sauté the garlic for 30 seconds.

Step 3: Add sliced onions and cook till they turn translucent.

Step 4: Now add julienned carrots, sliced bell peppers, and shredded cabbage. Mix well and cook for about 2-3 minutes.

Step 5: Add salt and pepper as per your taste.

Step 6: Add boiled noodles to the pan and mix well.

Step 7: Add 1 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tbsp of chili sauce and 1 tsp of Ketchup to the noodles. Mix well and cook for 2 more minutes.

Step 8: Garnish with finely chopped spring onions.
