Arth Restaurant and Lounge – Earthy, Gas-Free, Traditional Cooking! — Reviewed!

Arth invites patrons to partake in the stylish, sleek atmosphere while listening to the melodious live music. The much-acclaimed restaurant is all set to welcome guests and promise an unparalleled dining experience. Located on the second floor of the Westin, Pune – Arth, an elegant lounge has an upscale environment and the interiors are posh and designed by the celebrity Gauri Khan. The grand entrance, nicely stacked books pillar or bar, the chandelier, or the comfortable seating are all classy. The plush settings perfectly complement the menu and the Bollywood retro songs in the background.

Arth restaurant is the dream child of the much-talented Chef Amninder Sindhu who has crafted the menu focusing on the authentic Indian food prepared the rural classic way – Gas Free. The open kitchen will excite you to see how the food is prepared the traditional and ancient way. Majorly dishes are rooted in the same technique of cooking keeping the flavours alive. The smoky, earthy taste is what you get. So, in love with this place as its all about experiencing the forgotten recipes and the methods.

Started our evening with the magnificent amuse bouche. The thin coated mini silver colored spheres had the liquid pani-puri sort. Served on the shell, the presentation was on point. It bursts flavours on your palate.

Next was the epitome of molecular gastronomy – Yogurt Clouds (Rs.295). Potato baskets topped with yogurt spheres, tamarind and green chutney. The crunch of baskets, the creaminess of yogurt and the taste overall was bang on. I am sure one is not enough. Highly Recommended dish!

Another fabulous creation from the menu was the spectacular Morels Stuffed (Rs.850). One of the most expensive Kashmiri mushrooms Morel are stuffed with minced mushroom and served on the Nachni and Walnut Soil. It is an indicative dish of nature how mushrooms are found. Very thoughtful and creative one. Hats off!

Kurkuri Arbi was served next. The deep fried arbi crisps on the bed of charred onion and tomato chutney, cranberries and topped with rolled crispy colocasia leaves. The Arbi was nicely cooked and fried. Loved it.

Next on the table was the mock meat – Jackfruit Tawa Boti (Rs.295). Served on the bed of lachha onions, the chunks of jackfruit were slow cooked on the angeethi. The mild spicy dish was equally delicious.

Another stunning and brilliant dish was the Paneer Smoked. The melt in mouth Paneer was stuffed with spiced green peas from the smoker on the spinach gravy. Sound delicious? It tastes equally delish. The paneer was paired with Manipuri Black Rice Dosa. Not only it was delicious but healthy too. Tasted more like the ghee roast. Crispy dosa was of the bests I had in the longest time.

We had Dahi Khamiri Roti and Pearl Potatoes. The Mughlai Khamiri Roti was very well cooked. Had the perfect crispiness and softness on the other side. It paired well with the Pearl Potatoes. The flavorsome rich gravy had dum aloo. Loved the combination.

Chholey Kulchey was from the large dish and enough to serve 2 people. The raw and earthy smokey aroma of the chholey was worth trying. Aloo stuffed Kulchey were scrumptious too. They were soft and butter laden. Uff! Deliciousness!!

Last but not the least, the masterpiece – Angoori Rabdi. Served in the crispy phyllo nests, the rich, creamy cottage cheese dumplings had the perfect balance of sweetness. The crunch of phyllo and sweetness of rabdi was heavenly.

Never had the Kaali Gajar ka Halwa. The Black Carrots pudding was mildly sweet and the flavours were bang on. Topped with malai, the halwa was not less than the regular one. As basic, classic and delicious as ever.

The Daily All Day – Superfoods Menu! – A must must try! — Reviewed!

One of the recent additions to the Pune's dining scene was The Daily All Day which quickly grabbed a place in my heart because of the positive vibes, vibrant interiors and delicious food of course! Rarely are the places which tick all the points of customer satisfaction – food, service, ambiance. My first visit to The Daily All Day was as good as the repetitive ones. Recently, they curated the "SuperFoods Menu" which includes the dishes which have a dense concentration of vital nutrients.

The menu ranges from Devilled Eggs to Black Quinoa Salad to Chicken Tacos and Smoothies. I tried the following from the menu...
  • Super Grain Pasta
  • Activated Charcoal Idli and Beetroot Chutney
  • Red Rice Poha
  • Assorted Smoothie Bowls
One can relish guilt-free, gluten-free Supergrain pasta loaded with fiber, broccoli, cherry tomatoes. crunchy toasted walnuts, basil, and super yum bocconcini. Each bite was full of flavours and textures. Each element blended well with the pasta. Loved the slightly sweet, tangy, crunchy pasta. Highly Recommended!

Activated charcoal is in trend and so will be this Idli. Basic Rawa Idli with activated charcoal powder, french beans and snap peas was served with healthy and delicious Beetroot chutney. The color and the taste of the chutney was refreshing. Idli tasted good but since I am not a big fan of charcoal hence this dish was not exceptional to me. Though it was scrumptious.

Healthy, quick and delicious Poha is my first choice for breakfast. Chef took it to another level by preparing it with red rice poha and adding sweet potato, peas, broccoli, sunflower seeds, edamame seeds, curry leaves and topped with chili. The vegan poha had subtle flavours.

Next came my favourite – Smoothie Bowls. I did the happy dance as they had the varied range of smoothie bowls – Tropical, Banana and Kiwi Bowl, Peanut Butter and Chocolate bowl to name a few (Rs.350) each. I tried three of them...

  • Very Berry Smoothie Bowl
Both the peanut butter and chocolate bowls tasted and presented almost the same; the only difference was one of them was vegan i.e made without using yogurt or honey. The bowl had cocoa powder, banana, peanut butter topped with fresh banana, pecan nuts, chia seeds, granola, tender coconut chunks, and raisins. I wish it had one layer of chocolate chips too to add to the flavours. Those who love peanut butter or chocolates must must try this one!

While, the other fruity very berry smoothie bowl had the punch of tartness and sweetness of mulberry, blueberry, and strawberry along with the base of hung curd. The colorful smoothie was topped with malta orange, granola, watermelon, and seeds. Loved it.

The Daily All Day is one of my favourites places to dine and now with the introduction of the Superfoods menu, got one more reason to visit them. How many of you have visited the place? Please share the experiences in the comment below.

Bubble Rush, Jaipur – Rush to try the Bubble Teas and nibbles!

A cute little cafe with the one-of-its-kind concept of Taiwanese Bubble Tea – Bubble Rush is located in the C-Scheme, Jaipur. I have visited Bubble Rush, Pune a couple of times and when I heard it is opening in Jaipur as well, couldn't resist myself to try the delicacies from the menu. The pastel-colored walls are adorned with the beautiful quirky quote frames. One corner of the wall has the painting of the cute panda holding bubble tea. The seating capacity of the cafe is around 25-30 people. Parking is available nearby cafe.

While the Bubble Rush, Pune focuses mainly on the teas, the Jaipur cafe has some hearty combos to go with the drinks. Right from the french fries, sandwiches, to tornadoes all are paired well with the bubble tea. You can choose the base for the drink – Green Tea or Fizz and then ask for the pop-in-mouth bubble recommendations and voila, amazing tea is ready. I tried the following....

The name– Choco Rum, might sound alcoholic but the drink was chocolate based and without any alcohol. It was super yum.

Undoubtedly, one of the best Pizza Fries, I had. The thick, crunchy fries were loaded with the pizza sauce, olives, jalapenos, and cheese. This is the must-have when you love both pizza and fries. The one meal in all is the best choice. #HighlyRecommended

Next thing on the menu that popped my eyes out was the luscious Popcorn Caramel Shake and trust me it was super-indulgent. It had the nuttiness with the perfect balance of sweetness. The shake was the best of both the worlds. Loved by everyone, the shake is also must must try!

Another interesting addition was the tornado swirls. You can choose from the multiple options like peri-peri, jalapeno, tandoori, barbeque but I opted for the basic cheese one. One can customise as per the spice level. Mine was medium-spicy with the drizzled cheese. The crunchy potato swirls are a challenge to eat but it is worth it.

Next from the menu were the classic Bubble Teas. I chose Blackberry Bubble Tea with the green tea base and the Litchi bubbles. Delicious combination! While the other Orange Mojito with the fizz base was extremely refreshing!

Last but not the least, I tried Cornitos Sandwich from the "Between the Bread" section. The nicely grilled bread had the filling of mayo and crunchy cornitos chips. Great idea. I absolutely loved it.

Overall, Bubble Rush is a great addition to the Pink City. All you guys, please share your views and experience of the place. Eager to read.
